Position Summary

Our Client is hiring a Project Coordinator/Maintenance and Service. This position is a hands on position that will support service contracts for various systems installed by our Client’s team.  Whether supporting conveyor preventative maintenance and fixes, or helping ensure that installed robots continue to operate as designed, the Project Coordinator is a key component of the Customer Experience team.  As the number of contracts grow, the coordinator will help ensure that the team is aligned on timing of what is to come, that the team is prepared to respond to customer needs and give inputs on how to grow the support program.  When it comes to delivering the Memorable Experience, the Project Coordinator will be at the forefront of ensuring our customers are beyond delighted with the solution that our Client has installed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with Customers to understand the challenges at hand
  • Understand the client solution and what parts of the system need additional support of oversite. 
  • Understanding of the mechanical mechanisms of conveyors, sortation, PLC, and other material handling 
  • Visit job sites during the commissioning phase to help with startup as needed.
  • Be able to reach schematics to determine potential root cause of failures and/or system underperformance.
  • Have an understanding OR a want to understand the mechanical and systematic workings of robotic systems (such as G2P, sortation, AMRs, pick and place).
  • Ability to articulate the physical work and assist in training customer maintenance personnel on how to support an installed system
  • Working with OEM partners on building training programs to assist in the long-term health of supporting installed systems.
  • Continued education on advancements and offerings from our OEM partners 
  • Assist and share work duties across our Client’s team as they grow 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • An abundance of attitude and aptitude in a changing and evolving industry
  • Technical Degrees OR Technical Certifications in the maintenance and service of Material Handling Systems is preferred.
  • 5+ Years’ Experience in the Material Handling Industry or equivalent experience 
  • Comfort building relationships with internal teammates, external partners, and customer 
  • Working knowledge of Conveyor, Racking, Storage Systems and Advancing Technologies (Robotics, Goods to Person Systems etc.) is helpful 
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude necessary.
  • Well-developed verbal / interpersonal skills with strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to understand complex issues and being able to articulate how to fix to others.
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously and comfortably in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and AutoDesk Products (AutoCad, Inventor, Etc).
  • Industry knowledge related to supply chain, logistics, material handling systems, and software such as WMS, WES, WCS, CCS, ERP, is nice but not required
  • Knowledge of installation and maintenance of systems.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision with a high degree of independence
  • Travel up to 75% or as needed. 

Working Conditions

  • Work outside of normal business hours can happen from time to time as we get busy closing business! 
  • Get to experience Operations up close and personal.  This means:
    – Occasional climbing on steps, scaffolding and/or mezzanines.
    – Standing or walking for a long period of time.
    – Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 75 pounds may be required
    – Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels.
  • Working with computers and computer programs.
  • Working with the mechanical tools necessary to support the service of Material Handling Systems.
  • Working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities
