Position Summary

Our Client is hiring a Robotic Systems Support Engineer to serve as an on-site or remote support engineer for their Robotics equipment.  The successful candidate will have a software, controls, and electronics (preferably robotics) background.  This role will be a part of the Life Cycle Services (LCS) Support Team.

The Support Engineer is responsible for registering, tracking, documenting and handling disruptions, errors, and inquiries regarding their robotic system. Technical and verbal language skills are necessary. This includes complex troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Job Responsibilities

  • Scheduled preventative maintenance including inspection and cleaning of robotic equipment
  • Install, support, diagnose, repair and upgrade hardware and software components
  • Replace worn, damaged, or defective parts
  • Adhere to and support all safety regulations in Orlando and at client sites
  • Assist with managing the receipt, inspection, security, and deployment of equipment and materials on site and in the Orlando Lab
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools
  • Provide technical assistance and training to clients while onsite
  • Resolve electrical, mechanical or firmware problems with robots 
  • Resolve problems with wireless devices, networks and other IT equipment used to support robots
  • Follow up with customers to ensure full resolution of issues
  • Communicate and work closely with other groups within company and the project team (i.e., software, controls, mechanical, and installation personnel to resolve client issues.)
  • Ability to submit electronic work orders efficiently and accurately using company- provided tablet, required
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record, required.
  • Must be able to lift heavy mechanical components (50 lbs.) on a regular basis
  • Unscheduled corrective maintenance
  • Ability to write and submit trip reports 
  • Ability to analyze system performance metrics
  • Willingness and ability to assist in other capacities such as new systems installations as required for organizational success
  • Oversee the identification and ordering of spare parts based on customer requests

Job Requirements

  • Up to 70 percent travel with some extended stays (~2 to 3 weeks)
  • Strong written and verbal skills 
  • Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams, and 2D AutoCAD drawings
  • Strong mechanical and electrical systems knowledge
  • Previous experience in installation, configuration, testing, and support of material handling or other large control systems is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to relocate to Orlando, FL is considered a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites
