Position Summary

Project Manager (Implementation Services) is responsible for leading all disciplines required to support the Company’s Robotics team during the design, implementation, testing and go-live of turnkey Company Robotics systems. This position also assists with the evolution of the products, systems, components, applications and their successful migration through their life cycle.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads entire project from concept refinement to satisfied customer
  • Responsible for majority of activities related to client satisfaction, engagement, account management and follow-on sales for assigned customers
  • Establishes a clearly defined management process for all project aspects. Gives unit and direct report goals and objectives. Communicates these requirements to project teams and leadership through meeting and progress reports.
  • Organizes the Project Team and develops effective relationships; supervises and mentors all field implementation team members
  • Maintains a strategic understanding & relationship with key internal and external project partners to make project successful and grow the firm and product line capabilities.
  • Accountability for the oversight of up to 2 client site implementations concurrently or a single client, multiple program site implementation at any given time.
  • Effectively manages project risks, opportunities, and client expectations throughout the duration of implementations and ensures all integrated system designs meet the specified system performance and technical requirements
  • Ability to manage and maintain issues tracking including identifying root causes, evaluating alternative resolutions, delegating responsibilities for resolution, and final evaluation of corrective action across a wide range of trades and technical aspects
  • Serves as primary client contact for all on-site activities and ensures client satisfaction.
  • Manages a diverse, cross-functional team of internal and external partners to achieve the desired results
  • Coordinates and manages each project to ensure project design/functionality and schedule objectives are met:
    – Site mechanical, electrical and network installation teams
    – Systems and controls installation personnel
    – Integration and test personnel
    – Logistics support personnel
    – Client operations, engineering, IT and maintenance personnel
  • Ensures all site safety requirements are met by our Company’s personnel and subcontractors
  • Ensures successful system turnover from Company to client and to take on all responsibilities necessary to ensure successful implementation
  • Willingness and ability to accept additional responsibilities as required to ensure the successful evolution of Company’s robotics
  • Assesses technology, assets, staff, designs, vendors, and others as needed to identify improvement opportunities and works with the team to drive change to improve the business
  • Manages implementation schedules including tracking of key milestones, planning of resources and managing critical path for successful turnover of systems
  • Assists and is a lead contributor of the transition of proposed systems into detailed design phase, including participating in conceptual an detailed design planning phases of projects as required to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper positioning of additional services to be offered to the client.
  • Assists in sales efforts for new clients
  • Assists in all follow-on project sales for past and current clients. Continuity and key learnings / understanding must be leveraged for follow-on success.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements in every aspect of business and conveys, explains, evaluates, and promotes internally
  • Assists in design, development, testing and implementation of these improvements.
  • Ideal candidate will progress to a Director role and direct all staff fulfilling the job described in this document

Job Requirements

  • Experience with transitioning complex systems to full operation
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supervising and managing field installations
  • Detailed understanding of skilled trades (i.e., electricians, millwrights, riggers, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment layouts, assembly drawings and detailed vendor blue prints
  • Project management and execution experience including planning, scheduling, resource management, installation, integration, acceptance testing and final sign-off
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work with clients, management and multi-discipline development teams
  • Willingness to travel extensively and spend up to several weeks deployed to a specific site. Typical, this would not include weekends except in rare situations.
