The Director, Supply Chain, serves as the leader responsible for the International and Domestic flow to the Company 3PL Supply Chain Network. This role provides strategic and operational oversight for system-wide supply chain distribution functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, financial stewardship, quality standards, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Leadership & Network Transformation
Develop and Partner to execute supply chain strategies and tactical plans for logistics, inventory management, procurement, transportation, and distribution operations across Company’s facilities and 3PL warehouse and transportation partners throughout the United States and Canada.
Direct the transformation of Company’s distribution network, including implementation of transload operations, expansion of third-party logistics partnerships, and transition from traditional distribution model to a transload and port-based distribution model to improve network efficiency and service performance. Optimize inventory during the transition away from a master distribution center model.
Identify supply chain risks, develop mitigation plans, and support business continuity across suppliers, transportation providers, ports, branches, and customers.
Ensure the continuous, efficient flow of products to the right location at the right time to meet customer and business requirements.
Lead strategic supplier relationships across domestic and international partners, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and strong supplier performance.
Serve as a supply chain thought leader, leveraging current and emerging technologies, data, and system capabilities to optimize the Company’s supply chain.
Inventory Management
Oversee inventory management, quality, and compliance programs to improve supply chain performance, scalability, and operational effectiveness, including domestic and international supplier transportation operations, ensuring efficient movement and improving delivery performance.
Collaborate with Product Management on product lifecycle planning, sourcing strategies, product transitions, and supplier-related inventory decisions.
Procurement & Supplier Management
Develop and maintain strong strategic partnerships with long-standing domestic and international manufacturing suppliers to ensure product quality, supply continuity, and alignment with Company business objectives.
Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvement plans related to quality, cost, delivery, forecasting, compliance, and service reliability.
Logistics, Transportation, Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export requirements, trade regulations, duty programs, company standards, sustainability initiatives, and ethical sourcing expectations.
Partner with Operations and Quality teams to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and operational performance.
Serve as a subject matter expert for supply chain systems, processes, policies, procedures, compliance expectations, and audit-related activities.
Support Operations in Domestic Redistribution as required.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead a lean, high-performing Supply Chain team consisting of a Supply Chain Manager, Transportation Specialist, and Quality & Planning Analyst.
Provide hands-on leadership that combines strategic planning, team development, and direct participation in key operational initiatives.
Set clear goals, accountability, performance expectations, and development priorities for the team.
Promote Company’s mission, vision, values, and culture while driving continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field required.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Required Experience
10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, including procurement, inventory planning, logistics, transportation, and distribution responsibilities.
5+ years of leadership experience managing managers, planners, analysts, or cross-functional supply chain teams.
Experience leading supply chain or distribution network transformation initiatives, including transload models, 3PL partnerships, port-based distribution, and/or migration from in-house distribution operations.
Experience managing domestic and international suppliers, supplier agreements, product costs, rebates, forecasting, quality expectations, and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of freight imports, carrier management, customs compliance, trade regulations, duty programs, and transportation performance management.
Experience within a distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, or industrial environment preferred.
